Corsica Hotels and Accommodation: Picture of the Grand Hotel Continental at AjaccioA vast choice of lodging on Corsica is scattered all over the island, coming in the form of hotels, aparthotels, holiday homes, self-catering rentals, guest houses, gites (furnished vacation houses) and mountain refuges, as well as health and wellness spas. All tastes and all pockets are catered for, with the only problem being which type of accommodation to choose, and where! Favourite locations around Corsica include the pretty towns with their beaches and the unspoilt foothills of the mountains.

Corsica's hotel ratings range from family style two star to luxury four star, with many such accommodation options set in restored heritage buildings and offering beautiful views from their balconies, across the sea and mountains. Also on offer are rental villas with swimming pools, two Club Med complexes near Calvi, auberges (rustic inns) with lodging facilities, municipality-owned gites ruraux in converted village properties. For a novel experience, some local monasteries also offer accommodation.

Corsica Hotels and Accommodation: Porto waterfront accommodation viewWhere to Stay
The main tourist areas of Corsica are in the south and north-west of the island and have the best choice of accommodation as a result. The towns of Porto Vecchio (Old Port), Bonifacio and Calvi are home to picturesque lodgings, such as Calvi's Residence Nord-Sud, set on rocks above the sea in a listed post-Corbusier building, just below the town's ancient castle. In Calvi again, the charming Hotel les Aloes looks down on the town and the sea from a hill, and for sheer luxury, La Villa Hotel with its Michelin-starred restaurant is hard to beat.

On the south side of Corsica, close to Porto Vecchio and the Cala di Folaca beach is the Roc e Fiori Hotel, complete with swimming pool and Jacuzzi. In Ajaccio, Corsica's capital, is the upscale Mercure Ajaccio, part of the Accor Group, and the central area of the island is home to the well-known Hotel de Monte d'Oro in Vizzavona, set amid the pine forests with stunning views across the mountains.
